Welcome to the world’s largest limestone mine. Deep down awaits you a completely unique experience for both children and adults – your dog is also welcome to join. Take a few hours out of your calendar and look forward to a ride on the train, to explore the caves, see the bats, horror and wild stories. The temperature is 8°C all year round, so remember warm clothes – even in the summer. Are you hungry for more you can visit the lime plant and finish the day with a little refreshment in the café.

Think bats are a little dangerous, exciting and mysterious? 5 different species hibernate in Mønsted Kalkgruber. In the spring they leave the mine for the summer and fly all around Jutland.

ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS IN THE AREA AROUND THE MINE

Mønsted Kalkgruber is much more than a huge hole in the ground. Here is beautiful scenery, grassland and cozy corners for the perfect picnic. If you have a dog feel free to bring it along.
